Filter settings
**Product filters are displayed in the storefront, and each filter can have different looks (layouts) depending on how you and your visitors would like the search to be presented. **
P.S. We describe the Premium plan unless otherwise specified.
Layout > Filter settings
Each “main filter” is displayed in a lighter green color, and its name is enclosed in “-” characters, such as “- Category -”, “- Brand -”, and “- Stock status -”.
The darker green-colored filters are filters for variants:
All filter settings
On the right-hand side of the filter page, there’s a settings icon that affects all settings:
You may want to show or even hide all filters completely.
- By selecting “Hide filters > Only show search results” all filters are completely inactive.
- By selecting “Show filters > In a filter menu”.
If filters are shown:
- Enable all filters = If ON, all filters (both the main filters and variant filters) are enabled by default. Unless a specific filter is set to OFF (then it’s dark red).
- Collapse all filters = If ON, all filters are collapsed / closed by default. Unless a specific filter is set to OFF, then that filter is opened.
- Search fields in all sections = If ON, all filters supporting an individual search field display it by default. Unless a specific filter is set to OFF, then that filter doesn’t display a search field.
- Sort all filters by results count = If ON, all filters are sorted by the number of product hits matching that filter (e.g., 8, 5, 2 hits). Unless a specific filter is set to OFF, then that filter uses its specified sort order.
Edit variant filter settings
Each filter has its own unique filter settings. Each filter can be set to ON, OFF, or AUTO. If set to AUTO, then the default setting in All filter settings decides how the filter is displayed.
- Enabled = Show or hide a filter.
- Collapse filter = Open or close a filter.
- Search field = Display a search field for the filter.
- Sort filter by results count = Sort by the number of hits matching the filter, or by sort order. For example, if colors are manually sorted as Green, Red, Blue and you always want to display colors in that order, set this setting to OFF on the filter “Color”
Layout types
Layout defines what a filter looks like. Most filters can be displayed as:
- Checkboxes. Only displayed in the filters. Each value becomes a selectable checkbox.
- Variant images. Display the product's variant images as smaller, clickable thumbnail images.
- Color. Display color dots on the product for each color.
- Button. Displayed as a button with text on the product + the filters.
- External images. Display external thumbnail images that are not a part of the actual product. For example, for products made out of wood, you might want an image that displays the selected wood type, even though the product doesn’t look like that. Then the thumbnail images are displayed both on the product and the filters.
We suggest the following layout types for an optimal look:
- Brand and Size should be displayed as a Button or External image.
- All types of Patterns should be displayed as an External image.
- Color should be displayed as Color.
- Stock status should be displayed as Color or Checkboxes (then the stock status color-icon disappears).

Edit category filter settings
Category settings are visually fixed and therefore lack a few options. They cannot be searched, and the layout always displays checkboxes.
